Since 2008, the Museum of Lower Lusatia has been located in the delightful church of the Dominican monastery founded in 1291, more recently used as a youth detention centre up until 2005 and now a cultural centre.
The monastery, the over 250-year history of the former detention centre and “Luckau – Gateway to Lower Lusatia. People. Culture. Nature.” – these are the themes of the exhibitions in the new setting. There are also special exhibitions, events and a museum shop.
