The exhibition includes the ancestral hall from 1915 in the palace tower with its monumental mural painting by August Oetken as well as 114 coats of arms of towns, aristocratic estates and manors. Other highlights include a medieval treasure find as well as hoards and graves dating back to the Iron and Bronze Ages. You can also admire an interactive model of the city and try old trypewriters like a castle manager.

The exhibition is fully accessible and is also highly recommended for children. Up to four special exhibitions are held every year that explore various issues relating to contemporary history or culture. The palace tower is also used for events and weddings.
