The highest spot of the Teichland adventure park is home to a 50 metres tall observation tower. From here, visitors can enjoy excellent views of the lakeland scenery of the Peitzer Land region, the Jänschwalde power station and the 1,900 hectares big lake Cottbuser Ostsee that is currently being created. The tower’s modern architecture with its concave lines reflects the shapes of the cooling towers of the nearby power station. In the basement, there is a panorama room where live footage from the viewing platform is shown, and a small museum area. In the exhibition ‘Tagebau und Teichland’ (‘opencast mining and Teichland’), visitors can learn about the region’s development from a mining location into a recreational area.  A visit to the park is also worthwhile in the evening. After dark, fascinating lighting effects are used to present the tower from its best side.
