Prenzlau’s local recreation area, the “Kleine Heide”, is home to nine fantastic play areas and learning stations for young and old. The 2.7 kilometre path opens up the little stretch of forest just outside Prenzlau, next to the Charlottenhöhe nature reserve through the new “Nemo & Fine Erlebniswanderweg (adventure path) "Tierisch phänomenal". The adventure stations focus on the “mega-senses” of the forest’s inhabitants in the various habitats and different levels here. By experimenting, visitors can experience and discover some fascinating facts about the inhabitants of the forest and their “super-senses”. Alongside the various hands-on activities, there are also plenty of rest areas and viewing points throughout the area, of course. The “Kleine Heide” bus stop is right outside the main entrance to the area. There are two signposted car parks, one right by the exit marked “Rast- und Spielplatz” off the B109, and one level with the “Kleine Heide” forest restaurant.
