It is impossible to overlook here that the Uckermark is an area with a lot of stones: cultural-historical brick Gothic structures, large Stone Age burial sites consisting of huge boulders, old granite buildings, and so on.

The “Stone Trail” route takes cyclists from Templin via Boitzenburg and Fürstenwerder, all the way to Warbende on the border to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The path goes through the heart of the Uckermärkische Seen Nature Park.

Length 51 km (4,5h)

Start: Templin / Finish: Warbende

After Warbende no return journey by train is possible, which is why the route would have to be cycled back.

Arrival/departure Templin: From / to Berlin-Lichtenberg with the RB12 (approx 1.5 hours)

Course: Templin - Metzelthin - Warthe - Hardenbeck - Boitzenburg - Parmen - Fürstenwerder -

Warbende - Werchener See

Sights:
  • Templin: historic old town with baroque town hall, multicultural center, city tours, passenger boat trips and much more.
  • Boitzenburg: Boitzenburg Castle, Marstall with coffee roastery, chocolate factory, show bakery, ice cream factory and brewery, Apollo temple, hereditary burial of the von Arnim family, monastery mill with mill museum, ruins of the Cistercian monastery, zoo / landscape park with hereditary burial of the Counts of Arnim, bathing facilities
  • Fürstenwerder: City wall with gates and Wiek houses, erratic boulder garden, local history museum, bookstore and antiquarian bookshop, natural swimming area on the Great Lake

Gastronomy: in Templin, Fährkrug, Warthe, Boitzenburg, Buchenhain (2 km from the path), Parmen, Fürstenwerder

Please note that the opening times of the dining facilities in the individual Places are often different (e.g. rest days, seasonal opening times)!

Overnight: in Templin, Fährkrug, Metzelthin, Warthe, Boitzenburg, Krewitz, Fürstenwerder

Nature of the route: predominantly separate, paved, car-free cycle path, country roads with little traffic, complete signage
