The second stage of the cycle route from Berlin to Usedom is 35 kilometres long. The route takes you from Biesenthal to Joachimsthal on Lake Werbellinsee. From Biesenthal the route takes you through the Barnim Nature Park via Marienwerder, Rosenbeck and Eichhorst (Werbellin Canal) and then to Lake Werbellinsee, one of the state’s most beautiful lakes.

How to get there: From Berlin central station take the RE3 (Angermünde) to Biesenthal (about 30 minutes).

Return journey: Take the RB63 from Joachimsthal to Eberswalde. Continue from here by taking the RE3 (LutherstadtWittenberg) to Berlin central station (Hauptbahnhof) (about 1 hour).

Route: Biesenthal, Rosenbeck, Eichhorst, Wildau, Joachimsthal

  • Biesenthal town hall gallery
  • Eichhorst: Wisent monument
  • Wildau: Ascanian tower
  • Joachimsthal: Sculpture garden by the town hall, town church, Kaiserbahnhof station

  • Oder-Havel Cycle Path

Trail conditions/surface: Most of the route is on separate cycle paths. There are a few stretches with paved field and forest paths. There are only short passages, where cyclists get into contact with motor traffic on main roads or when going through towns and villages. Within the State of Brandenburg, the whole cycle path is fully developed and signposted.
