The third stage of the cycle route leads from Berlin to Usedom. The route takes you from Joachimsthal on Lake Werbellinsee to Warnitz on Lake Oberuckersee. From Joachimsthal the route takes you through the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve to Angermünde. The tour then takes you via Steinhöfel and Stegelitz through the rolling countryside of the Uckermark all the way to Lake Oberuckersee.

Start: Joachimsthal / Finish: Warnitz

How to get there: Take the RE3 (Schwedt) from Berlin central station to Eberswalde. Continue on from here via the RB63 to Joachimsthal (about 2 hours).

Return journey: From Warnitz, take the RE3 (Elsterwerde-Biehla) regional express train to Berlin central station (about 1.5 hours).

Route: Joachimsthal, Parlow, Glambeck, Wolletz, Görlsdorf, Peetzig, Steinhöfel, Stegelitz, Warnitz

  • Joachimsthal: Sculpture garden by the town hall, Schinkel church, Kaiserbahnhof station, Biorama viewing platform
  • Glambeck: Kirchlein am Welsetal (little church in the Welsetal valley), Redern museum in the Taubenturm tower

  • Warnitz: Quartzsprung - glass and ceramics studio

Trail conditions/surface: Most of the route is on separate cycle paths. There are a few stretches with paved field and forest paths. There are only short passages, where cyclists get into contact with motor traffic on main roads or when going through towns and villages. Within the State of Brandenburg, the whole cycle path is fully developed and signposted.
