The neo-Gothic Kröchlendorff castle church is a three-aisle basilica with a cruciform layout. The ceiling of the church features Gothic arches. Two pillars each are connected by 2 crossed arches on the ceiling. The church’s magnificent interior has been carefully renovated.

About the church’s history:
  • 1855: start of construction in the neo-Gothic style based on designs by the royal architect Ferdinand von Arnim
  • 1867: completion and inauguration
  • 1961: last religious ceremony. The church was then taken out of use and items were stolen.
  • 1992: take-over by the municipality of Gollmitz (later Nordwestuckermark) that acted as contractor during the refurbishment. The refurbishment was sponsored by the Federal Republic of Germany, the State of Brandenburg and the administrative district of the Uckermark.
  • 1993 onwards: refurbishment
  • 2002: completion of the refurbishment measures supervised by the architect Johannes Penzel
  • June 15, 2002: opening


The church can be used all year round and it features all necessary electrical and bathroom facilities. It is also a beautiful setting for civil wedding ceremonies.
