Monika Brachmann's complete oeuvre to date comprises some 550 oil paintings, over 100 prints and various watercolours, pastels, gouaches, drawings and small sculptures. Three main groups of motives can be distinguished: figure paintings, still lifes and landscapes. The boundaries between these motifs are largely observed by the painter. The charitable Wolfgang and Monika Brachmann Foundation has been in existence since 2013. The purpose of the foundation is to promote art and culture as well as science and research in the field of the fine arts, and in particular to preserve, care for and make accessible the artistic work of Monika Brachmann and to promote scientific work on the topic of representational artists in Germany.
