Michaela Ambellan’s ceramics studio is slightly hidden in a rear courtyard in Lychen’s old town centre. Here, you can visit the permanent exhibition “… of earthly and heavenly joyful women, power women and angels” - ceramic figures made of raku and fire-smoked pottery. In addition to the figures, small dishes and ceramic jewellery are also on offer.

Spend a special evening by appointment modelling your own power woman or protective angel (minimum 4 persons) or

participate in a ceramics workshop. Detailed information can be found on the artist’s website.

In her flyer, Michaela Ambellan describes her work as follows:

“To me, my clay female figures are very earthly on the one hand, so I call them power women, because they represent and are intended to give strength when you look at them and touch them, as well as radiating vitality in their sensual fullness. On the other hand, they are angelic beings that embody our spiritual side - striving for something greater than ourselves.”
