The garden was designed in 2012 with the help of the internet. The idea was and is to create a garden with the help of the internet, bringing people from different regions and cultures together. That is why, in March 2012, an appeal was made to sponsor roses, so the garden could begin. The appeal brought in such a response that approximately 150 roses are currently being grown. Since then, over 30,000 people both in Germany and abroad have been following the project as it develops - the existence and growth of the roses.
