The first stage of the Märkisch Overland Trail covers from Feldberg to Kolbatzer Mühle. With its many lakes, the tour lives up to the name of the Feldberger Seen nature park. The trail goes along Kleiner Luzin, then on along Dreetzsee and Krüselinsee, all the way to Kolbatzer Mühle. There are also a number of hills along the way that allow for wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.

Start: Feldberg / Finish: Kolbatzer Mühle

How to get there: Take the RE5 (Rostock) from Berlin central station (Hauptbahnhof) to Neustrelitz. From here, take bus no. 619 to Feldberg (about 2.5 hours).

Return journey: From Kolbatzer Mühle take bus no. 505 to Lychen. From here, take bus no. 517 to Fürstenberg/Havel. Finally, take the RE5 (Elsterwerda) to Berlin central station (Hauptbahnhof) (about 4 hours).
