The fourth stage of the Märkisch Overland Trail covers from Templin to Ringenwalde. The first part of the route goes along Templin canal. It then passes through a beautiful mixed forest before reaching Milmersdorf. The route finally crosses the forest and lakeland scenery of the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve, before the destination Ringenwalde is reached.

Start: Templin / Finish: Ringenwalde

How to get there: From Berlin Ostkreuz take the RB12 to Templin (about 1.5 hours).

Return journey: From Ringenwalde take the PlusBus Schorfheide (515) and the Schorfheide-Bahn (RB63) to Eberswalde. Continue from here by taking the RE3 (Falkenberg/Wittenberg) to Berlin central station (Hauptbahnhof) (about 1.5 hours).

Route: Templin, Milmersdorf, Ringenwalde

Points of interest:
  • Templin: St Mary Magdalene Church, historic town centre, town history museum, St. George’s Chapel
  • Ringenwalde: Village museum

The tour can be combined with the following other routes:

  • Uckermark Country Loop
  • Circular trail around Templin's Town Lake
