Templin is embedded in a lakeland scenery that was formed in the Ice Age. The fully preserved granite town wall, Gothic brick gates and guard houses make for a medieval flair. Part of the route is a path that meanders through the mixed beech forest on the shore of Templin’s town lake. It is a typical groove lake with a long and narrow shape and a steep shoreline. There are a number of restaurants along the way.
