This hike around Boitzenburg will take your through an extraordinarily interesting cultivated landscape. In the south-west of the town, there is a beech forest that has been created as an extended park: Carolinenhain. The forest that was named after Count von Arnim’s wife Anna Caroline von der Schulenburg stretches all the way to the chain of lakes including Krienkowsee and Schumellensee. Work on a landscape park was first taken up in 1780 and was continued by Lenné in 1838. The park is home to a number of particularly big trees.
