The Dominican monastery is one of the best-preserved medieval monasteries in northern Germany. The museum displays a remarkable collection of medieval objects and an exhibition on the life and work of the classicist landscape painter and Goethe enthusiast Jakob Philipp Hackert. It also offers the opportunity to marvel at the refectory with its impressive medieval wall paintings.
