Vietmannsdorf was first mentioned in 1281. In 1304, Vietmannsdorf was the margravian negotiation venue of the Counts of Brandenburg and Mecklenburg. The von Holtzendorff family resided here from the 15th century through to the mid-19th century and played a key role in the village’s history. The 700th anniversary of the village’s first mention in a document was celebrated in 1981.

Exhibits from the village’s history can be discovered in the local history parlour. Please call if you would like to arrange for a visit to the church.
