The Boitzenburg Castle complex was first mentioned in a document in 1276. However, it is likely to be even older. The castle is surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens that were created by the well-known garden architect Peter Joseph Lenné around 1840. The Marstall opposite the castle is part of the former von Arnim estate. It is now used as a chocolate manufacture, show bakery, coffee roasting facility and event venue.

Following comprehensive renovation work, the castle is now open to the public again and it is used as a hotel.
