Ruppiner Seenland Water paradises and cultural enjoyment

The Ruppiner Seenland is considered one of the most attractive recreational areas for aquatic sports in Europe. Palaces with marvellous lake views, like in Rheinsberg, serve as magical backdrops for concerts, theatres and festivals. The towns in the region are reminiscent of the Brandenburg-Prussian history. Many places look as if they have hardly changed for centuries: Cobblestone alleys lined with fruit trees and corn poppy scattered along the paths and storks on rooftops.

Let's go! We show you how to spend the perfect day in the Ruppiner Seenland, give you useful tips and recommendations surrounding your vacation and reveal the best highlights you don't want to miss.

Explore and enjoy water and nature paradises

The Ruppiner Seenland is a region in Brandenburg most rich in water. More than 170 lakes and rivers and canals invite you to embark on a water adventure by canoe, house or motorboat. Hobby skippers are directly connected with Berlin, the Elbe and Oder River and the Baltic Sea through a dense network of waterways.

The pristine landscape of the Ruppiner lakeland region offers cyclists a variety of recreational opportunities to enjoy, marvel and explore nature, for instance, on the Havel-Radweg or the Berlin-Kopenhagen-Radweg cycling paths.

Oranienburg Palace, the oldest baroque palace of the March Brandenburg, is situated in the historic centre of Oranienburg, accommodating two museums today. Built in the year 1651 as a country residence for Louise Henriette, the first wife of the First Elector; Frederick I. had Oranienburg Palace expanded and splendidly furnished.
