A day between lake, park and villas

Bad Saarow impresses with a special mix of elegant villas, spacious parks and the fresh lake air on Lake Scharmützelsee. As soon as you arrive at the railway station, your gaze falls on the magnificent buildings from the Wilhelminian era - a first impression of the special atmosphere of the town. Directly opposite is the tourist information centre, where visitors can get up-to-date tips on sights, events and excursions.

For a short break, it's worth taking the short walk to the Kurpark-Kolonaden - just a few minutes from the railway station. Whether it's a freshly brewed coffee at KaffeeRösterei Bad Saarow or a slice of delicious cake at Le Gâteau rose café, this is the perfect place to start the day.

The colonnades also invite you to stroll and browse. In addition to boutiques with fashion and cosmetics, regional specialities can also be found here: In the ‘Mark in Brandenburg’ shop or in the fish boutique at Fischerei Köllnitz, there are products from the region - to take away or enjoy straight away.

A walk along Seestraße leads directly to the spa gardens. The paths in the park are well maintained and lead past old trees, flowerbeds and the shore of Lake Scharmützel. Or how about exploring the lake in the afternoon with a houseboat on a personalised cruise? Of course, you can also take a classic tour on an excursion boat.

The weather is bad? The SaarowTherme has plenty to do to spend a relaxing day. The thermal spa with its extensive sauna area and wellness, beauty and health treatments is perfect for this.

Round off the evening with a delicious meal in the Theos restaurant in the ‘Märkisches Meer’ hotel resort or with a cool drink in the ‘Freilich am See’ beer garden.

Monastery, garden, brewing art in Neuzelle

One of the most impressive monastery complexes in Brandenburg rises up in the heart of Neuzelle. The highlight of this historic site is undoubtedly the collegiate church, whose magnificent 17th and 18th-century gold and stucco furnishings amaze visitors. The cloister of the monastery has been largely preserved in its late Gothic form.

Another highlight is the baroque garden just a few steps away, which is one of the most important gardens in Germany.

The tradition of the Neuzell brewery dates back to 1416. Even today, numerous beer specialities are still brewed here with great dedication.
