The fourteenth stage of Tour Brandenburg extends from Senftenberg to Uebigau-Wahrenbrück. The tour crosses the Lower Lusatian Heath Nature Park. You continue to the spa town of Liebenwerda via Ortrand and Elsterwerda. The route takes you along the Schwarze Elster to Uebigau-Wahrenbrück.

Start: Senftenberg / Finish: Uebigau-Wahrenbrück

How to get there: Take the RB 18368 regional train from Berlin Ostkreuz to Senftenberg (about 2 hour).

Return journey: Take the RB18176 regional train from Uebigau to Falkenberg (Elster). Continue from here by taking the IC2078 to Berlin central station (about 1.5 hours).

Route: Senftenberg, Großkoschen, Hosena, Hohenbocka, Guteborn, Kroppen, Ortrand, Hirschfeld, Gröden, Elsterwerda, Saathain, Würdehain, Bad Liebenwerda, Wahrenbrück, Uebigau-Wahrenbrück

Sights:
  • Senftenberg: Town harbour, zoo, Protestant Peter-Paul church, Buchwalde lakeside bathing area, castle and fortress
  • Hohenbocka: Church (built in 1408), castle and park, observation tower and sandstone cliffs
  • Ortrand: market square, Saxon post mile column
  • Detour Hirschfeld-Plessa (approx. 22 km): Adventure power plant, Elstermühle
  • Elsterwerda: Post mill, “Kleine Lausitz” miniature park
  • Saathain: Half-timbered church, rose garden at Saathain manor estate
  • Bad Liebenwerda: St. Nikolai town church, visitor centre at the Lower Lusatian Heath Nature Park, Lubwartturm tower
  • Wahrenbrück: Historic Windmill
  • Hydropower plant with high pole generator
  • Uebigau-Wahrenbrück: St. Nicholas’ Church
