This stage of the Lower Lusatia Mining Tour goes to the Spreewald Biosphere Reserve. We recommend visiting the Spreewald Museum in Lübbenau, the Slavenburg in Raddusch and the White Stork Centre in Vetschau.

To start with, you cycle through the Lower Lusatian Ridge Nature Park, where you will find the historic town of Fürstlich Drehna with its moated castle. Meanwhile, the nature park itself enables visitors to experience a landscape transformation: after decades of lignite mining, new lakes have formed.

Length: 67 kilometres

Start: Calau, finish: Vetschau

Logo/route sign: The route logo is the red record devil.

How to get there: Take the S7 from Berlin central station to Ostkreuz. From here take the RB24 (Senftenberg) to Calau (approximately 1.5 hours).

Return journey: From Vetschau take the RE2 (Wismar) to Berlin central station (approximately 1 hour).

Route: Calau, Säritz, Klein Mehßow, Groß Mehßow, Fürstlich Drehna, Mallenchen, Erpitz, Groß Jehser, Hindenberg, Groß Beuchow, Klein Beuchow, Bobitz, Raddusch, Göritz, Vetschau
